Separated from his family due to conflict in his home town in Sukma, Chattisgarh, Soni Mada picked pieces of his life when UNICEF through the Sports for Development programme got him enrolled as Khela Mitra.
Fighting against all odds , Soni taught himseff and also got 30 students from his village enrolled for ashramshallh residential school. Getting the trust of elders in community was tough, but Soni convinced them through his hard work and determination . Today the whole community rally behind him when he needs them. Only in recent past, when the teacher of the school was not treating the students well, he got the village elders to intervene and made the teacher apologise and mend his way.
As part of thank your Real Life Hero campaign, please send Soni Mada, a bouquet of congratulatory messages appreciating her work in the Sukma district in Chattisgarh.
Needless to say, he would be delighted and encouraged to do more such work with more zest with girls in her district. The best three selected messages will be printed on a special UNICEF card which will be handed over to Soni.
