Schools should be proactive in welcoming and supporting learning and participation of all children from diverse social groups, ensuring there are no discriminatory practices or barriers to any child's participation. Teacher's attitudes and expectations (towards girl child, children with special needs, minority children and children from different socio-religious background) play a key role in building a positive and inclusive environment.
